Aam Aadmi Party releases the party manifesto for Delhi Elections

February 2, 2015

Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections on February 7, the Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday released its manifesto, outlining its goals and mission for Delhi. Releasing the manifesto, Arvind Kejriwal said that ‘our manifesto is like a holy book, we do what we say’.

Before finalizing the blueprint of the manifesto, Kejriwal spoke with different sections of the society residents, experts, NGOs, bureaucrats etc. for a period of three months.

AAP’S agenda consists of 70-points for a better Delhi. The issues covered include swaraj, full statehood, clean water, cleaner Delhi, women’s safety, public health, empowerment of rural and village areas, to make Delhi a drug free city, connecting villages by metro, reducing unemployment, cleaning Yamuna etc.

Arvind Kejriwal also took the opportunity to take pot shots at BJP and Congress. “Congress released three manifestos in the past 15 years and has failed to address 80% if it’s promises,” he said. “BJP didn’t see through any promises they made the last time so this time they aren’t even bothering to release a manifesto,” Arvind Kejriwal said.

Kiran Bedi filed a case against AAP

February 2, 2015

BJP’s chief ministerial candidate for Delhi Kiran Bedi Mascot filed a case against Aam Aadmi Party’s Kumar Viswas accusing him of making vulgar comments against her while her party approached the Election Commission on the issue.

Slamming Viswas comments, Bedi said “What kind of security and dignity can women expect from AAP’s leadership that the party itself has blatant sexist and perverse mindsets?” Bedi said in a tweet. Viswas, however, denied the allegations and accused Bedi of misleading the people. “I am surprised that channels are not showing this video. There were cameras of so many channels. There was an Election Commission camera too.

“This is the online channel of BJP which when realizes that it’s trailing in the campaign starts engaging in spreading such rumors. It is there routine task to give such abrupt statements and I am challenging Kiran Bedi and BJP that if she can prove these remarks and show a video of mine saying the same things, I will quit politics, else Bedi should quit,” he said.

February 2, 2015

US President Barrack Obama assured that the healthy relationship between New Delhi and Washington has nothing to do badly with Beijing. China doesn’t need to be threatened because we have good relations with India,” Mr Obama said to the media.

In his interview, which was taped in New Delhi on January 27, the last day of his three-day India trip, Mr Obama referred to his November visit to China and said that he had some very successful meetings with his Chinese counterpart. “My belief is that in this moment in history, there’s an opportunity to create a win-win formula in which all countries are abiding by a common set of rules and standards and we’re focused on lifting up prosperity for our people, not at the expense of others, but together with each other. That’s what my discussions with Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi have focused on,” Mr Obama said.
